In 1954 Perdisa began racing a Maserati in the Sport category; driving a Maserati A6GCS he triumphed at the Bologna Raticosa, in the Italian University championship, the Coppa della Consumana, the Portugal GP and a came second in the Supercortemaggiore Grand Prix at Monza. In 1955 he claimed the Shell GP at Imola and the 6-hour night race in Bari.
Victories in these categories paved the way for Perdisa to become an official Maserati driver. At the wheel of a 250F he came a great third at Monte Carlo in the F1 World Championship. He raced again for Maserati but objections to his racing by his father precluded further notable results. Perdisa turned out for Ferrari in 1957, placing well on occasion. It was unfortunate that a driver who could have had a much more successful career did not have the support of his family. Perdisa passed away in Bologna on May 10, 1998
