The exterior design of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport: A sportier, more dynamic look
The new machine’s refined appearance enhances the car’s lines and lends a sporty edge to its innate elegance and style.
The car appears decisive and dynamic; and its place in Maserati’s great tradition of limited-production performance cars is already secure. Maserati’s latest Rosso Trionfale finish for the bodywork perfectly defines the GranTurismo Convertible Sport’s athletic soul, and marks the return of the racing color of Maserati's triumphant cars of the 1960s.
The oval grille, a distinctive and traditional feature on Maserati vehicles, echoes the elegance of models from a classic era like the A6G-54 Frua Spyder. Black vertical elements are utilized on the GranTurismo Convertible Sport’s grille with black colored headlamp surrounds continuing the aggressive frontal appearance.
The Maserati Trident located in the center of the grille sports red accents, an important feature that appears only on the most powerful cars in the Maserati range.
Exterior enhancements, like the front aero winglets, body-colored door handles and mirrors are in tone with the car’s bodywork, as are the revised side skirts. These give the GranTurismo Convertible Sport its purposeful look but also play a key role in its aerodynamics.
Black Shadowline trim traces the outline of the cabin to accentuate its dynamic performance and it also appears on the tailpipes further enhancing the car’s sporty look; the two oval tailpipes make this model as unmistakable as the exhaust sound.
The newly-developed 20-inch Astro Design alloy wheels are available in two finishes: Silver and Grigio Antracite, the latter boasting an unusual metallic look.
